  1. Q: What is sea moss?

 A:  Sea moss is a family of red algae that has been consumed by humans for thousands of years. Sea moss grows naturally on rocky coasts across the globe. Today, sea moss is also farmed in several coastal regions including the U.S.A., China, Ireland and the Caribbean.

 

  1. Q: How does sea moss grow?

A: Sea moss attaches itself to underwater rocks and uses a process called iontophoresis where the sea moss absorbs minerals and key nutrients from the rocks themselves.

 

  1. Q: Are there different types of sea moss?

A: Sea moss is an umbrella term for thousands of different species of red algae. There are currently two main species of sea moss that are used; Genus Gracilaria and Chondrus Crispus. These species of sea moss are the most nutrient dense and are therefore used in heath and cosmetic supplements.

 

  1. Q: Can you take too much sea moss?

A: Too much of anything is never good. It is recommended to stick to 1-2 tablespoons of sea moss, or 2 capsules, daily for optimal health benefits.

A: Sea moss is best taken in the morning with your first meal in order for your body to absorb as much of the essential vitamins and minerals as possible throughout the day.

 

  1. Q: Can sea moss be frozen?

A:  Yes, raw and gel sea moss can be frozen up to 4 months to preserve taste and all essential minerals and vitamins.
